A Romantic, Tradition-Rich Celebration at Holy Trinity & The Revelry

Some weddings are beautiful.
Some are meaningful.
And then there are weddings like Stephanie and Logan’s Greek Orthodox wedding in Charlotte, North Carolina — layered with history, faith, family, and the kind of love that feels steady, intentional, and deeply rooted.

From the very beginning, this wedding was about more than a single day. It was about honoring heritage, celebrating generations, and creating a wedding experience that felt sacred, joyful, and unmistakably them.

Planned and designed by Zywicki & Co Events, this full-weekend celebration unfolded across some of Charlotte’s most iconic wedding venues, blending old-world tradition with modern celebration.

A Traditional Greek Orthodox Wedding Ceremony

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral | Charlotte, NC

There is something profoundly moving about a Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony. The symbolism. The ritual. The reverence. Every moment carries intention — and meaning.

Stephanie and Logan exchanged vows at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Charlotte, surrounded by family, faith, and centuries-old tradition. Candlelight flickered beneath soaring arches while lush altar florals framed the ceremony, creating a timeless and sacred atmosphere.

There was no first look.
No rushing.
Just anticipation, private letters exchanged, and a ceremony rooted in reverence and tradition.

As Stephanie entered the cathedral on her father’s arm to Wagner’s Bridal Chorus, the doors closed and time seemed to slow. It was emotional, powerful, and deeply personal — a ceremony that honored both love and legacy.

If you’ve never been inside Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, it’s honestly one of those spaces that stops you for a second. It’s the oldest Greek Orthodox cathedral in North Carolina, going back to 1954, and it’s still the heart of the Greek community here, it’s actually where the whole city gathers every September for the YiaSou Greek Festival. But the sanctuary itself is what gets me every time. You walk in through the narthex, which is basically this built in transition from the regular world into a sacred one, and then the whole space just opens up around you, icons covering practically every surface, and this incredible dome overhead with an icon of Christ looking straight down over everyone below. There’s an iconostasis, this gorgeous icon covered screen, separating the altar from where everyone stands, and it gives the whole ceremony this layered, almost otherworldly feeling. For Stephanie and Logan, getting married here meant their ceremony carried all that beautiful Greek Orthodox tradition with it too, the crowning, the walk around the altar, all of it steeped in centuries of meaning, in a room that’s been holding weddings just like theirs for generations.

Wedding Cocktail Hour with Live String Music

A Seamless Transition from Ceremony to Celebration

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a thoughtfully curated cocktail hour accompanied by live string music from Charlotte Strings — an elegant continuation of the ceremony’s tone before the celebration unfolded.

This moment was designed as a pause. A breath. A chance for guests to soak in the day while Stephanie and Logan shared their first moments together as newlyweds.

This is what intentional wedding planning looks like — honoring flow, emotion, and experience at every turn.

Elegant Wedding Reception at The Revelry

A Modern Celebration in the Heart of Charlotte

If the ceremony was sacred and timeless, the reception was joyful, warm, and full of life.

Held at The Revelry in Charlotte, NC, the space was transformed into a candlelit celebration layered with custom florals by Zywicki & Co Florals, curated lounge moments, and refined tablescapes. Every design choice reflected both romance and celebration — elevated yet inviting.

From their grand entrance to Natalie Cole’s “This Will Be,” to heartfelt toasts, traditional Greek dances, and a private last dance at the end of the evening, the reception felt vibrant, intentional, and deeply personal.

This wasn’t just a wedding reception.
It was a gathering of generations.
A celebration of family.
A legacy in motion.

Okay, can we talk about The Revelry for a second? If you haven’t toured this place yet, you need to.

It’s tucked inside Camp North End, and honestly the history alone gives me chills every time I’m there. This building started life in 1924 as a Ford Motor Company plant, we’re talking Model Ts rolling off the line by the hundreds of thousands. Then World War II hit and the Army moved in and turned it into a supply depot. During the Cold War it became part of the Charlotte Area Missile Plant (yes, actual missiles), and later it spent decades as an Eckerd Pharmaceuticals building before the whole campus got a glow up in 2017 into the creative, brewery and gallery filled spot it is now. So basically, you’re getting married in a building that’s lived about five different lives before yours.

And the space itself? 30,000 square feet of pure industrial charm, exposed brick, steel beams, all of it, but then someone hung the most gorgeous chandeliers overhead and suddenly it feels romantic instead of raw. It’s such a cool contrast and photos come out incredible because of it. You can go as intimate or as big as you want here too, they can seat up to 700 and hold way more standing, so it works whether you’re planning a cozy reception or the kind of party your guests talk about for years. There are two bars to keep things flowing, a covered patio that’s perfect for cocktail hour or sneaking away for photos, and private suites in the back where you and your crew can get ready or just catch your breath before you walk out to say “I do.” Best Impressions Caterers runs the food side of things exclusively, so it’s a one stop situation, and the rental already includes chiavari chairs, china, and glassware, which takes so much off your plate.

If you’re drawn to venues with a story and a little edge to them, this one’s worth a tour.
