That’s the guiding principle behind our floral designs at Zywicki & Co. As a Charlotte wedding florist, we use locally grown blossoms, bringing the beauty and poetry of the garden to your celebration.
Everything we do is done with intention—we see your wedding flowers as a way to tell your story, not just a box to be checked.
Local, seasonal florals from our own farm
Many of our wedding flowers are grown at our farm and greenhouse near Charlotte. With painstaking care, we tend to everything from showstopping hydrangeas and dahlias, annuals like bells of Ireland, and wild meadow grasses.
Locally grown flowers mean a lower carbon footprint, but that’s just one way we approach sustainable floristry. Our flowers are grown without synthetic pesticides, using homemade compost and drip irrigation. We also practice waste reduction by reusing any plastic materials and composting floral waste after events.

our Floral Design Process
1. Let’s talk florals
Once we receive your inquiry, we’ll reach out to schedule a consultation. We’ll meet virtually or in our studio to discuss your plans for your wedding, so we understand the type of arrangements and installations you need. We’ll also chat about your story, your favorite flowers, and your personal style in order to guide the creative direction.

2. Your custom floral proposal
We’ll send over a proposal that includes line items, a mood board, and design inspiration drawn from our conversation. We’ll refine the proposal until you’re confident in each line item, and once you’re ready, you can reserve the date with a contract and deposit.

3. The planning process
Your wedding design may evolve over time, so you’ll be able to adjust the floral details until 30 days before your wedding. In the weeks and months before your wedding, we’ll also lovingly tend to any flowers we’re growing for you, and carefully select blooms from other trusted growers as needed.

4. The wedding day
Our team takes care of everything—delivery, installation, and post-event cleanup—so that all you have to do is enjoy your stunning flowers. If you have a planner or coordinator, we’ll work with them to make sure we fit seamlessly into your timeline.

Let us answer your questions
How do you take a sustainable approach to growing flowers?
When possible, we rely on locally grown florals for a reduced carbon footprint. We also use homemade compost (from our flock of chickens), and then complete the cycle by composting floral waste after events.
In addition, we don’t use synthetic pesticides. Instead, we hand-pick pests and use beneficial insects. We also rotate our floral crops and leave some flowers unharvested for pollinators.
When we’re arranging cut florals for your event, we choose reusable plastics to limit waste wherever we can.
Do you offer décor rentals in addition to florals?
Yes. We have a selection of vases, candles, stands, and arbors. We also offer draping services as part of a custom floral package. And if you can’t find exactly what you want in our catalog, let us know, and we may be able to source it for you.
Do your floral services include delivery and setup?
Yes. Your proposal will include delivery, setup, and breakdown, so that you can spend your time celebrating. We’ll coordinate with your venue, planner, and/or photo team so that everything’s set up well before guests arrive (and so your photo team can capture the details).
What if I don’t know a lot about flowers?
You don’t have to—we pride ourselves on guiding you through the process. We’ll ask about your favorite flowers, your color palette, and the ambiance you’re looking to create. We’ll also take a look at some images so you can give us an idea of what you do (and don’t) like.
How early should I book?
At least 6 months ahead, but the earlier the better, especially if you’ve chosen a popular wedding weekend.
If you book 9-12 months ahead, we may be able to grow specific florals at our farm to match your color palette and desired aesthetic. When we create your floral design deck, we’ll let you know what’s possible to grow locally and what may be sourced elsewhere.
Do you travel for weddings outside the Charlotte area?
Yes. Although we’re primarily a Charlotte wedding florist, we also design wedding florals for couples elsewhere in North and South Carolina. Just let us know and we’ll plan a road trip.
